Frequently Asked Questions

Is this Gunn and Richards?

YES! For 30+ years we have been serving America's pharmacies as Gunn and Richards while our website has always been vials.com. Now we are simply VIALS.com: same company - easier name to remember.

When will my order ship?

Orders placed weekdays before 4pm CST will be shipped that day. Orders placed after 4pm or on weekends or holidays will ship on the following business day. See Shipping & Returns > for more information.

When will I receive my order?

We ship in the continental US via FedEx Ground from our warehouse in Kansas City so transit times range between 1-4 business days. After your order has shipped, you will receive an email with shipment tracking information. See Shipping & Returns > for more information.

Do you sell to non-pharmacies?

It seems people have found many non-pharmacy uses for prescription bottles from sales promotions to party favors. Yes, we will sell our products to non-pharmacies but require that you order online and pay with a credit card or PayPal during checkout.

What is a dram?

A dram is a pharmacy unit of measure and is used in sizing prescription vials. Approximately 8 drams is equivalent to 1 ounce. If you are unsure of which size vials to order, please check our Vial Dimensions page > to see the height and diameter of our vials.

Can I mix and match different vials and caps?

No. While they may seem very similar, each manufacturer has slightly different vials and caps so are not interchangeable between brands. Be sure you only use caps designed for the specific vial you purchase.

Do the vials include caps?

It depends on the product. You can see a comparison of vials here >. Most products have vials and caps sold separately to allow pharmacies to order a mixture of child-resistant and non-lock caps as well allow for custom imprinting. We do carry some products that have both vials and caps sold together. Please see the product description to determine if the product you are ordering has vials and caps sold separately or caps included. If you are unsure, feel free to contact us to help.

What does this heart icon mean?

You will see a heart icon next to all our products. This icon lets you add products to My Favorites, a customized list of items your pharmacy uses so you can quickly re-order. Learn more about My Favorites >

Where can I recycle my vials?

Look on the bottom of the vial for the type of plastic then check your local recycling centers to see recycling options near you. Websites such as Recycle Nation > can help locate a recycling center. Other options include organizations that re-use or recycle them such as Matthew 25: Ministries >. Always be sure to remove the label or personal information before recycling your vials.

Please feel free to contact us at customerservice@vials.com or 877.44.VIALS if you have any other questions or need additional information.
